Did James Bond have classic car insurance?

Let’s face it - we aren’t just talking wear and tear here. Between car chases, explosions and the mighty wrath of Jaws, there has always been a never-ending list of possible outcomes for every vehicle that appears on screen (the BMW Z8 that is chopped in half by a helicopter in The World Is Not Enough is a case in point).

The many concealed gadgets installed in each vehicle could also pose a problem when giving an accurate evaluation of its worth. Can you imagine the small print? ‘See individual breakdown for machine guns, door panel missiles and mortars’, for example. The same could also be said for exceptions – ‘does not cover being torn apart by an oversized guy with metal teeth’ and ‘becomes null and void if driven under water’. And you can forget about any possibility of a no claims discount.

Of course, for most of us, life simply isn’t that dramatic. We all have our equivalent of the dry Martini (shaken, not stirred) and our beloved Aston Martin DB5 is just as valuable to us as it is to Bond. The only difference is that we don’t have a trusting Q at hand to supply us with a brand new vehicle each time we embark on an adventure so, unlike James, we have to rely on classic car insurance to get us out of those sticky situations.

While, we don’t spend our days speeding around cliff faces or dodging bullets and missiles (which would at the very least, incur our fair share of traffic offences), we still need to protect against potential damage or theft and the right classic car insurance is as important for our everyday lives as it is for a government agent sporting a gun and a dinner jacket. That’s why it pays to take the time out of our own daily missions to research the best cover for our vehicles so that they too will live to see another day.Check out vintage3.com.
